But rarely does Bluepoint muck with the foundation of Demon’s Souls, because to do so would be sacrilege. You can use the Major Demon soul you earn when defeating a boss for a nice soul payday. They can be used later in the game to learn unique spells and miracles, or forge unique weapons. If you manage to find the Ring of Avarice, you’ll increase the number of souls that drop from enemies, making soul farming more bountiful. The Ring of Avarice can be purchased from the noblewoman in the Tower of Latria prison, or found in Upper Latria, after dropping the giant heart. While many combat encounters with Major Demons are white-knuckle, hand-to-hand brawls, you’ll occasionally encounter giant bosses that seem impossible to take down based on your current equipment.
Perfect and hone your skills in combat – know when to push forward and when to bide your time, as with each missed swing and careless mistake, you risk losing the very souls you’ve worked so hard to collect. The rewards for slaying the strongest foes are immense though, and death does not mean the end – it’s just another state of being. Venture to the northern kingdom of Boletaria – a once prosperous land of knights, now beset with unspeakable creatures and ravenous demons.
Folks do love a good easter egg and it seems that Bluepoint has added one to their Demon’s Souls remake. Players quickly noticed a new, mysterious door that wasn’t in the original game. Through some photo mode trickery they’ve discovered there’s an item inside but unlocking it is still a mystery. Here’s another gameplay trailer showing boss fights with the Armor Spider and Flamelurker with a bit of exploration in between. Moore said that photo mode will pause the game, something you couldn’t really do in the original Demon’s Souls, to let photographers nail their shots. But if you’re playing the game online, and you’re invaded by another player, the game will warn you and kick you out of photo mode.
There Are Many Exciting Possibilities For A Demon’s Souls Sequel
Demon’s Souls has archstones that players can use to fast-travel to the Nexus, a hub world where they do their leveling, purchase items, and more. Archstones are far rarer than bonfires, oftentimes only appearing in areas where players have defeated one of the game’s many powerful bosses. The lack of bonfires means that Demon’s Souls has far less checkpoints and it’s also more difficult to level grind in this game compared to the titles that followed. Whether or not one appreciates the additional challenge is up to personal preference, but it does make the game even more intense.
